The California winemaker Trinchero Family Estates is the new Owner of Folie a Deux Winery.

Vice-Chairman and CEO Roger J. Trinchero said that Trinchero Family Estates, which owns Trinchero, Montevina, Sutter Home, Trinity Oaks, Fre, and imports Reynolds Vineyards wines of Australia, has completed the purchase of the winery.

"We are thrilled to acquire this fine estate," states Trinchero. "We are deeply committed to developing our Napa Valley portfolio and Folie a Deux is an ideal fit."

Folie a Deux is located just north of the town of St. Helena. The property includes several winery buildings, a historic farmhouse which holds the tasting room, and 13-acre estate vineyard planted to Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery also produces wine from Amador County.

Trinchero Family Estates holds 6,000 acres of California vineyards, 200 of which are located in Napa Valley. Folie a Deux joins the company's two winery facilities and vineyards on Highway 29 and Zinfandel Lane in south St. Helena.

Folie a Deux was purchased from a private investor group chaired by Dr. Richard Peterson.
