Simon Carter, who has been with the wine group since 2002, will move up to assume the position, TWE confirmed late last week. Details were not immediately available on whether this is a newly-created role or if Carter is replacing somebody.

Reporting in to Kinyi Choo, MD for South-East Asia, Middle East, Africa, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Global Customers & GTR, Carter will work out of TWE's office in Adelaide.

"Simon brings great leadership experience, commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the GTR channel that will enable him to lead and drive growth of the TWE brand portfolio across the global travel business," said Choo.

Carter has previous experience of GTR, as regional manager of TWE's operations in the channel in Australia & New Zealand. He has spent the last 18 months as head of on-premise sales in Australia.
