The vodka was released in the country on 15 March and is being handled in the on-trade by Oy Norex Spirits, Fifth Generation said this week. The deal further expands the Texas brand's European footprint after distribution deals were announced last year in Spain, Denmark and Switzerland.

The 40% abv brand is sold in the US, the UK, and throughout Europe and Asia, as well as through United Airlines and American Airlines.

Last year just-drinks asked if the term handmade still applied to the ever-growing brand. Pernod Ricard CEO Alex Ricard also weighed in on a legal row over the term 'handmade', saying: "One other question to ask is, what is the story behind it? If you look at what's happening in some specific cases in the US, you can see that consumers never forget - you cannot lie to consumers."

The comments echoed those of Brown-Forman's CEO Paul Varga in 2014 who identified the perils of big firms buying craft brands.
