MundoVino has been appointed exclusive US importer for Chilean wine firm Viña Tarapacá's Gran Reserva wines.

MundoVino, which is The Winebow Group's Argentina, Chile, Spain and Portugal wine division, will handle five wines from Tarapacá's Maipo Valley estate. The wines are Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Gran Reserva Organic Red Blend 2013, Gran Reserva Carmenere 2014, Gran Reserva Etiqueta Azul 2013, and Gran Reserva Etiqueta Negra 2014.

"MundoVino's Chilean portfolio's guiding principle is to champion expressive wines that represent the strong sense of place of Chile's diverse regions and sub-regions," said Diego Lo Prete,  senior VP & GM of MundoVino. "Viña Tarapacá joins our Chilean partners Viña Leyda, TerraNoble, and historic Cousiño-Macul, to strengthen MundoVino's... Chilean offerings."

Tarapacá is owned by VSPT Wine Group, which also owns the Viña Leyda brand. Details were not immediately available on who previously handled the brands in the US.

In August last year, The Winebow Group acquired California-based The Henry Wine Group.
