The Glenrothes has unveiled a travel retail-exclusive addition to its range of single malt Scotch whiskies.

The company confirmed late last week that The Glenrothes Robur Reserve will be launched at this year's Tax Free World Exhibition in Cannes, wherafter it will be available in global travel retail at EUR49.99 (US$71) per one-litre bottle.

The addition benefits from the influences of Spanish oak first-fill Sherry casks, which have been seasoned with Oloroso Sherry.

"Following the success of our 25 year old and 30 year old whiskies, travel retail is an increasingly important channel for The Glenrothes," a spokesperson for the company said.

Robur Reserve is the first whisky in The Glenrothes range to be available in a one-litre size.

Late last year, The Glenrothes added to its travel retail footprint with the launch of the 25 Year Old, which is available for GBP180 (US$367.50) per 70cl bottle
