Minute Maid Tomato Juice Blend is the company's 100% vegetable juice blend, a mix of tomato, carrot, celery, cucumber and beet juices. The tomato juice blend will be launched at the start of next year, with 12oz bottle containing 70 calories.

The tomato is technically a fruit, however in cooking it is usually categorised as a vegetable.

Coca-Cola's Minute Maid vegetable beverage was one of a number of new launches the company unveiled at the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) show in Las Vegas this week.

Other products included Coca-Cola's first cold-brew coffee, Far Coast, which is due to roll out in January. The company said it will be available in three flavours - Single Source Ethiopian, Signature Blend - Latin America and Café con Leche - in resealable aluminium bottles.

Other launches were:

Smartwater Alkaline and Smartwater Antioxidant - new additions to the Smartwater lineup, Smartwater alkaline has been ionized to ensure the pH level is more than nine, and Smartwater antioxidant is infused with antioxidant selenium. Both will be available regionally in the US this year and will launch in one-litre bottles nationally in March 2019.

Simply Smoothie - described as a "snack", the smoothie contains 100% fruit juices/purees with natural flavours. It launches in January 2019 in three flavours - Strawberry Banana, Mango Pineapple and Orchard Berry - and will be available in an 11.5oz on-the-go size or 32oz multi-serve.

Sprite Lymonade -  A lemon-lime flavour of Sprite that will launch in February next year in 20oz PET bottles.

Coca-Cola has broadened its portfolio since CEO James Quincey announced a "total beverage company" policy when he took over the job in May last year. Recent additions include the Costa Coffee chain - the deal for which was completed today - and Australian kombucha maker Organic & Raw Trading Co. Last month, the company was also linked with a move into CBD oils through reported talks with Aurora Cannabis in Canada.
