Coca-Cola will again sponsor the Rugby World Cup

The Coca-Cola Co has agreed to be one of the official sponsors of next year's Rugby World Cup, continuing a 20-year presence at the tournament.

Under the deal, announced today, the group will have exclusive soft drink pourage rights at all venues and fanzones across England and Wales. Coca-Cola's Glacéau Smartwater and Powerade brands will also be made available to the 20 teams competing. Financial details of the tie-up were not disclosed.

Coca-Cola has been associated with the Rugby World Cup since 1995's tournament in South Africa.

Brian O’Driscoll, the former Ireland and British and Irish Lions player, will also act as Coca-Cola's ambassador for the tournament.

Paul Dwan, GM of Coca-Cola's team for the event, said: “Rugby World Cup 2015 looks set to be the biggest ever; we’re delighted to be a part of it to celebrate the excitement and passion the tournament will generate."

The tournament takes place across various venues in England and Wales from 18 September to 31 October.
