The Coca-Cola Co will use this Sunday's Super Bowl to kick off a new marketing campaign to support the relaunch of Diet Coke in the US market.

The 'Because I Can' initiative includes a TV commercial, films, outdoor advertising and a sampling campaign. The move follows last month's revamp of Diet Coke, along with the launch of four flavours

The TV commercial, which will mark the brand's first Super Bowl ad for 21 years, stars Community actor Gillian Jacobs.

The company has also created a series of 15-second films to promote each of the four flavours: Ginger Lime, Feisty Cherry, Zesty Blood Orange and Twisted Mango.

"We wanted to present a fresh approach to Diet Coke advertising, while still bringing our loyal current fans along on the journey," said Rafael Acevedo, Coca-Cola North America's group director for Diet Coke. "Diet Coke has always been a brand that stands for confidence, but how we're saying it is totally new. Now, it's about having the confidence to do what you want to do and drink what you want to drink. Because you can."
