Thai Beverage plans to invest heavily to improve its image on the domestic market, according to local reports. Krungthep Turakij said today (25 August) that the maker of Mekhong and Sang Som branded whisky and Chang beer, plans to concentrate more on mass marketing this year in an effort to improve the image of its products.

The newspaper did not elaborate on the size of Thai Beverage's investment.

The company has spent most of this year at the centre of protests about its planned listing on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). The authorities have postponed indefinitely any decision on the listing in light of protests from religious organisations in Thailand, who claim that the company should but raise money through the stock market.

Most recently, the manager of the SET indicated that Thai Beverage's IPO could proceed since there was no law against it.
