Ten people have died in an attack on a Mexico beer distribution centre

Ten people have died following an attack on a beer distribution centre in Mexico, according to reports. A statement from Anheuser-Busch InBev's Grupo Modelo confirmed the attack took place at one of its wholesalers in the municipality of Garcia, Nuevo Leon, near Monterrey in the north of the country.

"Grupo Modelo deeply regrets the tragic events that took place on Friday 19 June in an establishment operated by one of our wholesale customers in the municipality of Garcia, Nuevo Leon," the brewer said today.

"It is important to clarify that the establishment where the events took place is not operated by Grupo Modelo and none of our collaborators were involved. Similarly, Grupo Modelo clarifies that the events did not take place in one of the sales points known as 'Modelorama'."

Guns and drugs were found at the distribution centre, according to The Guardian.

A-B InBev said it is "following any information provided by the competent authorities".
