Suntory Holdings is looking to up its presence in China through an extension of its tie-up with PepsiCo, according to reports.

The Japanese drinks firm, which already works domestically with PepsiCo in a series of bottling subsidiaries, hopes to sign a contract with the US-based company later this month, local reports claimed late last year.

Suntory plans to distribute two unspecified dairy products in China through regional PepsiCo-affiliated sales companies, a spokesperson told Bloomberg.

No-one was immediately available for further comment at Suntory when contacted by just-drinks today (4 January).

In December, Suntory signed a deal to acquire a majority stake in ASC Fine Wines Holding, China's leading importer and distributor of premium wine.
