According to reports in Portugal, Sumolis is planning to sell its 50% stake in Brazilian fruit drinks producer Brassumo to MPE, the Brazilian drinks group which controls the other 50% of the company.

No financial details have so far been revealed but it was reported that the sale is expected to go through by the weekend. Brassumo will continue to produce the Sumolis brand Sumol under licence.

Brassumo was the first operation the Portuguese soft drinks and beer company opened outside Portugal. A new plant was built in 2004 at a cost of US$15.2m.
