Stone Brewing is to launch a limited-edition beer in partnership with black-owned brewer Weathered Souls Brewing.

Black is Beautiful is an Imperial stout that uses a recipe created by Texas-based Weathered Souls. The beer forms part of a wider collaboration between 1,140 breweries across 21 countries to support racial equality.

Participating brewers are able to choose which organisations that support equality and inclusion to donate their proceeds to. Stone's profits will go to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund (LDF).

"Like many, we have been called to action by recent events and stand firmly in support of the Black Lives Matter movement," said Stone Brewing's interim CEO, Steve Wagner. "In addition to action outside of our company, we must ensure positive growth within. We are actively evaluating diversity and opportunity across all levels of our company and are committed to making sure all our team members have career mobility and paths to leadership."

Last year, Scottish brewer Brewdog acquired Stone's brewery and taproom in Berlin.
