Southwestern Distillery, the maker of UK gin Tarquin's Gin, has launched a spiced rum.

Twin Fin Spiced Rum is a gold rum designed for outdoor consumption, Cornwall's Southwestern Distillery said this week. The expression is a blend of Jamaican pot still rum and Dominican Republic column-still rum finished with Pedro Ximenez Sherry and rested over charred oak chips.

Master distiller Tarquin Leadbetter said: "Twin Fin is a rum for the beach. It's zesty, tropical and liberally spiced."

The rum is available on its own website and through Amazon.

In March, William Grant & Sons launched an apple-flavoured expression under its Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum brand. Sailor Jerry Savage Apple is the brand's first spirit innovation in almost 20 years.
