SodaStream Fruit Drops come in five flavours

SodaStream Fruit Drops come in five flavours

SodaStream has announced national off-premise distribution for its Fruit Drops flavour essences range in the US market.

The company, which launched Fruit Drops via its website in March, said yesterday that five flavour variants are now available in retailers including Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond. The calorie-free essences appeal to consumers who prefer to avoid sugary sodas, SodaStream said.

Fruit Drops can be added to regular water as well as carbonated water made with a SodaStream machine. The product line comprises Lemon, Lime, Raspberry, Orange, and Mango. Each 4cl bottle can flavour 20 litres - around 80 servings - of water.

"The Fruit Drop essence line fulfils the consumer need left between products available on the market today and appeals to consumers looking for natural flavours – without the economical or environmental costs," the company said.

SodaStream has been highly vocal in its criticism of plastic bottles. Earlier this year, the UK's Advertising Standards Authority banned an advert on the subject over inappropriate language.
