Pernod Ricard has teamed up with a Californian cocktail ingredients company to launch a tonic syrup designed specially for its Beefeater brand.

Yeoman Tonic Syrup, from Oakland-based Small Hand Foods, was made in partnership with Beefeater's master distiller, Desmond Payne, Pernod told just-drinks today. The companies started discussing the project five months ago, after Small Hand Foods founder Jennifer Colliau became interested in the resurgence of gin & tonic in the US.
