London brewer Small Beer Brew Co has released a 2.5% abv session beer. The Session Pale joins the company's existing line up of beers below 2.8% abv, including a 2.1% abv lager and a 1% abv dark lager.

The company describes the abv of Session Pale as "sociable".

"At 2.5%, it gives you all the enjoyment without the slowdown, allowing you to drink ... beer yet not write off your afternoon or endure the haze that following morning," Small Beer said.

All Small Beer Brew Co beers are vegan, lactose-free and "sustainably brewed" at the company's site in Bermondsey, London. The brewery was opened in 2017 by founders James Grundy and Felix James.

There is a rising trend among brewers to target the lower-alcohol occasion. Last month, Anheuser-Busch InBev's UK craft unit, Camden Town Brewery launched 3% abv Week Nite lager
