Gruppo Campari subsidiary Skyy Spirits has revamped the packaging for its Cabo Wabo Tequila brand.

The US-based company said today (7 July) that the new packaging will launch this summer and "is inspired by Cabo Wabo's origins, from the cantina in Cabo San Lucas to the sun-drenched agave fields in Jalisco, Mexico".

"The new Cabo Wabo Tequila bottle design is an achievement in contrast - blending authentic Mexican heritage with contemporary styling," said Alexis Pagis, senior brand manager for Cabo Wabo. "It continues the vision of Cabo Wabo founder and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar by infusing a sense of quality and sophistication with a real shot of rock'n'roll energy."

Last year, Cabo Wabo named Skyy Spirits as the official marketer and distributor of its Tequila portfolio in the US, following the controlling-interest purchase of the brand by Gruppo Campari in 2007.

The portfolio consists of Cabo Wabo Blanco, Reposado, Anejo, and Cabo Uno, the packaging of which will remain unchanged.
