The festival kicks-off in July

Craft brewer Sierra Nevada Brewing Co is aiming to further promote the sector nationally in the US with a multi-state travelling beer festival this summer.

The California-based group, which is soon to open a second brewing facilty in North Carolina, has invited every craft brewery - around 2,700 - to take part in the festival, it said yesterday (9 April). The iniative - called 'Beer Camp Across America' - will feature seven stops, running from 19 July to 3 August.

It kicks off in the company's home town of Chico and finishes at its new site in North Carolina in time for the opening of the brewery.

At the same time, Sierra Nevada is releasing a mixed 12-pack of beers - ten bottles and two cans - it has brewed in partnership with craft brewers across the country.

Ken Grossman, Sierra Nevada’s founder, said: “Together we’ve seen tastes change and craft’s momentum snowball. Beer Camp Across America is our way of reflecting on this - with thousands of brewers, fans and great beers. It should be pretty fun.”

Each festival will feature up to two beers per brewery, food vendors and live music.
