Coca-Cola GB is lining up a fresh television advertising campaign to market its latest soft drink Schweppes Straightcut as a drink for adults.

The company said yesterday (14 May), that its GBP2m (US$4m) Schweppes Straightcut marketing campaign is part of an overall UK spend of GBP5.6m on the brand this year. 

The drinks group added that the campaign also includes radio advertising, PR and below-the-line activity to push the beverage to the adult consumer. The drink is available in four flavours including pomegranate & blueberry, lemon, slimline lemon and slimline grapefruit & mandarin.

CCE channel marketing manager Joanne Birkitt said: "Premium adult soft drinks within the mainstream on-trade are currently showing strong growth. Schweppes Straightcut is part of our on-trade 'Time for an Alternative' program that also includes Peartiser and Oasis, offering consumers more choice in this increasingly important category. The new advertising campaign will assist to increase the awareness and boost trial of Schweppes Straightcut amongst core consumers."
