Schincariol is due to begin construction of its eighth brewery today (29 March).

Located in in Tres Lagoas, in the southern state of Mato Grosso do Sul, the plant is expected to cost the Brazilian brewer US$42m.

With a capacity of 150,000 litres of beer per year, the brewery is expected to become operational between March and April next year and create 160 direct jobs, a report in Valor Economico said.

The investment is one-third financed by Schincariol's own funds. The remainder will be funded by Brazil's National Social and Economic Development Bank through a loan, the report said.
