The New Orleans-based company, which acquired Constellation Brands' “value” spirits business back in 2009, said late last week that it has lined up the transaction for 1 October. Included in the sale are the Tortilla, Desert Island, Kapali, Ryans, Fire Water, Ice 101, Barbarossa, Ice Box and Mt Royal brands.

"White Rock has spent many years working on these brands,” said White Rock's CEO, Paul Coulombe. “Now, with the explosive growth we are seeing for our Pinnacle vodka and Calico Jack rums, we felt that is was time to move our focus and resources to our larger, national brands.

“Our national brands are growing at over 150,000 cases per month, and we need to prepare our facilities and resources to handle this growth.”

Mark Brown, Sazerac's president & CEO, added: “These brands fit well with our vision and they will further strengthen both our Sazerac and Gemini portfolios."

Financial details behind the transaction were not disclosed.
