Sauza, the Tequila brand owned by Beam Global, has denied a split with advertising agency Publicis Worldwide.

A report in the marketing press last week, claiming that Sauza would no longer be working with Publicis, was "in error", according to Beam, a susbsidiary of Fortune Brands and also owner of Maker's Mark, Jim Beam and Courvoisier.

Chris Swonger, Beam's senior vice president of corporate affairs, said on Friday (5 September): "Beam Global and Publicis Worldwide are strategic partners. It is important to set the record straight that the Beam Global relationship with Publicis remains intact."

He said Publicis continued to "provide strategic counsel" on Sauza, as well as representing "key brands" in the Beam portfolio.
