China's leading brewer, Tsingtao Brewery, posted sales growth for the first four months of the year of 9.7% but said that the outbreak of had slowed sales growth.

The company said it sold 920,000 tons of beer during the four months period, according to China Securities Journal.

Sales volume growth was 21% in 2002 and was running at 11% for the first three months of 2003.
