According to press reports, the Japanese brewer, Sapporo, has agreed a distribution deal for the Japanese market with the Foster's Group wine division, Beringer Blass.

Reports suggested the deal will begin in January 2003 and that Beringer Blass was expecting sales in excess of 100,000 cases annually. Beringer Blass Asia Pacific managing director, Jamie Odell, has previously said that Japan is a target development market for the company.
