Sapporo, which claims to be the only genuinely imported Japanese lager sold in the UK, is to reintroduce the classic style-icon sculpted can shape which was so popular in the 1980's in a bigger 650ml size.

Marketed by Marblehead Brand Development, Sapporo has also redesigned the 500ml can and 330ml bottle, in traditional gold and white livery based on the original Japanese Sapporo packaging.

Created over 120 years ago in the city of Sapporo in the north of Japan, Sapporo is Japan's oldest brewery and its taste is based on the Japanese cold ceramic filtered process and according to the company means it is un-pasteurised with no additives or preservatives.

The Sapporo 550ml can has a recommended retail price of £1.29 ($1.85), the 330ml bottle £1.09 ($1.57) and the new 650ml can has an rrp of £2.29 ($3.29).
