The company said yesterday that distribution would shift from Hallgarten Druitt & Novum wines to Conviviality's Walker & Wodehouse unit. The new agreement comes into force on 2 April.

Hallgarten Druitt & Novum wines will continue to distribute Santa Rita's Doña Paula brand in the UK.

"UK distributor, Hallgarten Druitt & Novum Wines, has worked with Carmen since 2010, establishing the range across all sectors but particularly within the premium on-trade," said Santa Rita export director, Europe, Terry Pennington. "However, after re-evaluating their Chilean portfolio, Hallgarten, with the agreement and support of Santa Rita Estates, has decided to part company with Carmen."

The Vina Carmen range includes Carmen Gold, Winemakers, Gran Reserva, Premier 1850 and Tolten by Carmen.

Meanwhile, Santa Rita told just-drinks yesterday that its vineyards were not affected by wildfires in the country. Elsewhere, the fires have caused considerable damage to old vines.
