Pure Foods Co. Inc, a unit of San Miguel Corp., is looking to start a regional coffee business, according to press reports. Agence France Presse (AFP) said today (2 November) that Pure Foods is forming a joint venture with Super Coffeemix Manufacturing Ltd. of Singapore.

The new joint venture will be called San Miguel Super Coffeemix Co. Inc.

In a statement, San Miguel said that the new company will engage in "the importation, packaging, manufacture, sale marketing and distribution" of coffee in the Philippines and other Asian nations, AFP said.

Details regarding how much each company was investing in the joint venture and what products it would be bringing to the market were not disclosed.
