Czech brewery Plzensky Prazdroj, owned by SABMiller, has confirmed the departure of its CEO later this month.

SABMiller confirmed to just-drinks today (8 September) that Mike Short will leave the position on 30 September.

Short will move to SABMiller's head office in London to join the corporate affairs team, to "lead the group's strategy on licence to trade issues", a spokesperson said.

A replacement for Short in Czech is currently being sought.

Short became CEO of Plzensky Prazdroj, which earlier this year reported the highest annual export volumes in its 166-year history, in February 2005.
