Russian Standard Vodka is to step up marketing in the UK over the coming months, including an on-pack promotion on 300,000 bottles.

The Russian vodka group said today (4 August) that it would make a "significant investment" in advertising, sampling and on- and off-trade support for the rest of 2010 in the UK.

Its flagship promotion will be an on-pack music campaign, covering 300,000 bottles and offering consumers the chance to win tickets to gigs. The promotion will begin this month.

The group has also organised a nationwide free film festival, which will run in partnership with leading film industry magazine Empire. Screenings will take place across major UK cities and begin in London on 6 September.

Both promotions are part of the company's Russian Standard Originals marketing campaign.

"We’re making a significant investment in the Russian Standard Vodka Originals programme, demonstrating our commitment to the UK market and hope to build brand loyalty with existing fans and drive trial with new drinkers," said Joanne Birkitt, senior brand manager for Russian Standard at the company's UK distributor, First Drinks.
