The extraordinary events surrounding the battle for control of the Russian vodka industry have taken another twist. It has emerged that last week, the country's General Prosecutor's Office issued an arrest warrant for Yuri Shefler, chairman of the privately-owned vodka business Soyuzplodimport (SPI), charging him with threatening to kill a government official.
