Roust, the owner of Russian Standard vodka, has appointed a new distributor in the Netherlands.

The company said today De Kuyper Royal Distillers will take over the exclusive distribution and marketing of Roust's core vodka brands, Russian Standard Vodka, Zubrówka and Green Mark. De Kuyper, which produces a range of cocktail liqueurs, replaces Maxxium Netherlands.

"We know that De Kuyper Royal Distillers is well placed for achieving our ambitious growth targets for our core authentic Russian and Polish vodkas and we are positive we will see further growth of our portfolio in the Netherlands," said Jonathan Ashworth, Roust's MD for mainland Europe.

De Kuyper has already started distribution for Zubrówka and Green Mark and will take over Russian Standard from Maxxium at the start of next year.

Last week, Diageo said it is looking to re-invigorate its Smirnoff vodka brand to appeal more directly to Millennial consumers in all markets.
