Remy Cointreau has handled Roust's Russian Standard in GTR since 2009

Russian Standard brand owner Roust Group has outlined plans to bring its full Global Travel Retail operations in-house.

The company said today that it will take back the GTR distribution of Russian Standard from Remy Cointreau. From 1 April, Roust will manage all of its GTR distribution from its international office in London, selling directly to customers in the sales channel.

The move marks the end of a long-term relationship in GTR with Remy Cointreau, which started in 2009. However, Roust said it will still work with Remy in a number of "key domestic markets", including Russia, Poland and Hungary.

According to Roust, "Russian Standard Vodka has become the fifth largest vodka brand by value in GTR (IWSR 2017), with depletions consistently growing year-on-year in a declining vodka category". The brand is distributed in around 80 GTR markets.

"Roust Group would like to thank Rémy Cointreau for their collaboration and support in developing the Russian Standard brand in Global Travel Retail," the company added.

Roust's portfolio includes vodka brands Russian Standard Vodka, Zubrówka Bison Grass, Green Mark, Soplica, Kauffman, Parliament and Talka as well as Italian sparkling wine and vermouth brand, Gancia.
