Corona Extra is finding itself the beer of choice amongst a range of pop and rock stars in the UK.

The Mexican brand, which is the number one imported beer in the US, has been requested specifically by a number of musicians appearing at a mini music festival in London in aid of the charity, Mencap. Corona said today (21 November) that it has subsequently decided to provide beer for all artists playing at the festival.

The Little Noise Sessions, which are taking place this week in the UK, feature artists including Noel Gallagher from Oasis, The Kooks, James Morrison and Lily Allen. All proceeds from the series of concerts will go to Mencap, a charity for people with a learning disability.

"Corona Extra has a strong tradition of supporting music and the arts across the world and we hope the Little Noise Sessions helps to raise much needed funds for the charity," said Angel Garcia Gomez, head of Corona Extra in the UK.

Nigel McNally, managing director of Wells and Young's Brewing Company, which markets, sells and distributes Corona in the UK, added: "I am pleased that Corona Extra was able to get involved and I am sure these gigs will be a great success."
