Sales of Riojan wine were up by 4.6% to 199.7m litres in the first 10 months of the year, compared to the same period last year.

Domestic sales accounted for 145.1m litres, up by 6% on the same period last year. Exports increased at a less impressive 1.2%.

Broken down further, sales of young La Rioja wines rose by 5.3% on the domestic market, but were down by 1.5% on export markets.

Crianza wines were up by 5.9% in total to 75.1m litres.

Reserva wines increased by 5.6% to 24m litres and Gran Reserva wines decreased by 4.4%.
