Remy Cointreau has appointed Marc Heriard Dubreuil to the role of chairman

The company said late last week that Marc succeeds Francois Heriard Dubreuil, who has moved to vice chairman of the board and member of the audit-finance committee. Marc took up the chairman position on 1 October.

"I thank the board of directors for their confidence," Marc said. "It illustrates and confirms the family's commitment to the group's strategy to create value and ambition to become the world leader in exceptional spirits."

According to Societe Generale analyst Laurence Whyatt, the Heriard Dubreuil family, through its Andromede business concern, "owns or controls 53.6% of Remy Cointreau".

Marc has been CEO of Andromede since 1984. He was also CEO of Remy between 1990 and 2000.

In a note following the announcement, Bryan Garnier analyst Virginie Roumage said Marc "is to replace his brother François Hériard-Dubreuil who has been chairman of the board since 2012 and is approaching the age of 70, beyond which the position of chairman can no longer be occupied in compliance with the company's articles".
