The US relief agency Food for the Poor has ordered the recall of a US-produced nutritional drink in Jamaica following three deaths, according to local press reports. However, the exact cause of the deaths has not been verified. The matter is currently under investigation by the Jamaican Health Ministry.

Bradley Finzi-Smith, executive director of Food For The Poor's Jamaica branch, said the relief agency did not know whether the drink, produced by Colorado-based company EAS, caused the deaths, but was recalling the drink as a precaution. He added that many people had drunk the product and not suffered any ill effects.
