Reed's Inc has poached a senior executive from Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPSG) to be its chief operating officer.

The Los Angeles-based 'natural' soft drinks producer has appointed Mark Beaton to the role, it announced yesterday. Beaton was previously DPSG's operations VP and has also worked in management positions for Pepsi Bottling Co.

“This is a big day for Reed's,” said the group's CEO & founder, Chris Reed. “Mark brings over 17 years of experience directing high-volume, multi-site operations for major Fortune 500 companies.”

Reed's said it is currently boosting its capacity, including tripling the available output at its Los Angeles site and upping production through extra co-pack bottling facilities.

The company's brands include Culture Club Kombucha, Original Ginger Brew, Virgil's Root Beer and Butterscotch Beer.

It is not immediately clear if the COO role at Reed's is a newly-created one.
