The US soft drinks producer Reed's Inc. has entered into an agreement with Heidelberg Distributing for its soft drinks to be distributed throughout Ohio.

The ginger beverage company said yesterday (9 July) that it has teamed up with Heidelberg in an effort to push the brand into mainstream market.

Reed's Inc. founder and CEO Christopher Reed said: "This strategic partnership presents an opportunity to gain broader brand exposure in the mid-west and further exemplifies our commitment to extending the reach of the Reed's brand to the mainstream marketplace."

Last year, Reed's Inc. sold soda bottles with tags offering customers the chance to buy shares in the company. The company asked for US$4 per share in the hope of raising up to US$8m, with the aim of using the funds to pay for shelf space fees in large national retail chains to boost sales.
