Radico Khaitan is looking to acquire a couple of international spirits brands. The company, presently undergoing financial restructuring, has hired Rabo Bank, which specialises in banking with agrarian businesses, to scout for acquisition targets.

The second largest spirits company in India currently has three millionaire brands in its portfolio - 8 PM whisky, Contessa rum and Old Admiral brandy. The company has also entered the fledgling Indian wine market through a joint-venture with the US wine major E&J Gallo.

Raju Vaziraney, the managing director of Radico Khaitan also hinted that the company will also be entering the Indian vodka market with a new brand, called Magic Moments.

Radico Khaitan has started aligning itself with the international market with the recent establishment of a distillery to manufacture grain-based whisky and the acquisition of a bottling plant in South India. The move follows market leader UB Group also starting to show an interest in international brands.

Sectors: Spirits, Wine

Companies: E&J Gallo
