Seasoned UK drinks industry executive James Lousada has been appointed MD of Quintessential Brands' international commercial spirits unit.

James Lousada has held several high-profile roles including CEO of Carlsberg UK
Lousada, who was most recently MD of the ill-fated Conviviality's trading arm, will now head up Quintessential Brands Spirit Solutions. The division provides production and bottling services to trade customers through the company's production sites in the UK, Ireland and France.
Lousada also counts GM at Accolade Wine's European division as well as CEO of Carlsberg UK among his industry positions.
"James' appointment is indicative of our aspirations for Quintessential Brands Spirit Solutions," said Quintessential co-founder & CEO Warren Scott. "It is also indicative of how we are building the truly global success we have always envisaged; a spirits company recognised across the world for both our portfolio ... and for the breadth and quality of our commercial offering.
"Quintessential Brands has significant international opportunity across both our premium brands and our commercial products, and with the experience, passion and strategic focus James brings, I'm looking forward to 2019 being another transformational year for our business."
A spokesperson for Quintessential told just-drinks that Lousada succeeds Jonathan Marsh, who has moved to become commercial director, EMEA.
Quintessential Brands was established in 2011. The group's portfolio includes Bloom Gin, The Dubliner Irish Whiskey and Feeney's Irish Cream Liqueur.
