Canadian “ultra-premium” vodka producer Pur has said it aims to treble production and is eyeing international markets after securing a “major” investment from financial backers.

The Montreal-based company, whose namesake brand is currently sold only in Canada, has received funding from a group of three businessmen, headed by Hillel Greenbaum, a partner in real estate firm Broccolini. Nicolas Duvernois, Pur’s founder, told just-drinks: “With this major investment, we will be able to do a lot of big projects that we wanted to do for a while.

“We will be able to more then triple our production and partner up with the world's most exciting events - we just signed as the official ultra premium vodka of the F1 Grand Prix in Montreal.”

Duvernois, who established the brand in 2009, said his company is testing Pur in “several markets around the world”.

But he added: “Our first priority for the near future is to be in the top three of all ultra-premium vodka sales in Canada.”
