Two former senior drinks executives have set up a new company in the US and bought a vodka brand.

Mark Teasdale, formerly MD of William Grant and Sons North America, and Michael Cheek, who was previously the president of Brown-Forman Spirits Worldwide, have teamed up to form Proximo Spirits in the country.

The company announced earlier this week that it has acquired Three Olives vodka from White Rock Distilleries for an undisclosed amount.

Three Olives will be joined by the 1800 and Gran Centenario Tequila brands and Ron Matusalem rum in the Proximo portfolio at the beginning of next year, the company said.

"Proximo Spirits intends to accelerate the volume and profit growth of a high profile portfolio of super premium brands through focused consumer brand building," the company said. "The company is also committed to becoming a preferred partner to distributors, control state brokers and retail and on-premise customers."
