Riedel Drinks has issued a product warning for its chocolate milk drink Chocomel.

The Dutch soft drinks company, a subsidiary of dairy products maker Friesland Coberco Dairy Foods, said yesterday (6 October) that customers should not consume Chocomel packaged in 300ml plastic bottles with brown screw caps and an expiry date between 22 February 2005 and 23 February 2005.

Riedel said the product does not meet quality requirements as a result of a loosely-fixed hermetic aluminium closing. Although the product is not a danger to human health, the company said, the drink might have a different taste.

The concerned drink is mainly available at petrol stations and other outdoor sales centres, Riedel said.
