The UK arm of William Grant & Sons has lined up the launch of an extension of its Warninks advocaat brand. The release of Warninks White, which is white chocolate and mint-flavoured, will be supported by a PR, social media and advertising campaign in the country throughout November.

Earlier this year, William Grant's UK division changed its name from First Drinks.

The UK’s number one advocaat, Warninks has introduced a new product to its range, Warninks White, a vodka liqueur with a unique signature flavour of white chocolate and mint.

Designed to be enjoyed neat or mixed with lemonade, Warninks White suits year round consumption occasions and appeals to new audiences without isolating the core brand fans. The launch will be backed by a PR, social media and advertising campaign, which will run across off-trade markets throughout November.

Paul Curry, Brand Manager for Warninks at William Grant & Sons UK, commented: “The off-trade liqueurs and specialities market is worth almost £500m and accounts for 13.3 per cent of the spirits category¹. This promising growth comes as consumers become more experimental with flavour profiles, and pre-Christmas, when the core brand sees its sales spike, is an ideal time to launch a new, unique product that will boost sales in the off-trade.

“Consumers favour brands that stay ahead of evolving trends and white chocolate and mint is an intriguing concept. We know that as individual flavours, white chocolate and mint are hugely popular and we are confident that the combined flavours will be an attractive proposition for drinkers and shoppers. We’re expecting this launch to create the kind of excitement the grocery market needs to ensure consistent year round sales opportunities for retailers.”

The sleek bottle has been designed to create stand-out on shelf and the product targets a more contemporary audience than the traditional Warninks advocaat.

Although the distinct packaging differentiates the new flavour, the values and strong identity of the Warninks brand remains. Warninks White is available in all Asda stores from 23rd October, with an RRP of £12.99.
