William Grant & Sons is to launch a new Kininvie single malt that uses the first liquid to be produced at the 25-year-old distillery.

Special Release #1 will roll out in the UK in November ahead of a mainland Europe launch, William Grant said today. It will be available in Taiwan from February next year.

Special Release #1 is taken from three casks, with each cask allocated to one of the three markets.

The Kininvie distillery in Dufftown opened in 1990. The first Kininvie single malt Scotch, a 23-year-old, was launched in Taiwan in 2013 followed by the UK and Nordics in 2014.

A 17-year-old was launched in Travel Retail in July 2014.
