Boston Beer has launched three Samuel Adams beers that use nitrogen in the carbonation process instead of carbon dioxide.

Samuel Adams Nitro White Ale, IPA, and Coffee Stout will be available from early next year, Boston Beer said today. Nitrogen carbonation is mainly used in stouts such as Diageo's Guinness brand and is said to deliver a creamier-style product.

Boston Beer said nitro “truly can be the missing fifth beer ingredient”.
