A new Scottish distillery has launched its first product, a potato-based vodka.

Arbikie Distillery is part of the family-owned Arbikie Highland Estate and uses ingredients sourced from within the estate. Commercial director, Iain Stirling, and MD, Audrey Stirling, previously held senior positions with Diageo, Whyte & Mackay and Beam Inc.

Arbikie Vodka is made with Scottish water and a blend of Maris Piper, King Edwards and Cultra potatoes.

A spokesperson for Arbikie told just-drinks the company will start distilling a gin and a whisky next year.

A new English distillery, The Cotswolds Distillery, produced its first spirit in September, Cotswolds Dry Gin. The company also plans to produce whisky and other spirits brands.
