The Hungarian drinks group, Zwack Unicum Rt, posted consolidated first half pre-tax profits of HUF1.031 billion ($4.22m), up 11% from HUF930m last year. Net sales rose by more than 9% from HUF7.407 billion from HUF6.774 billion.

The company said there had been a positive response in the marketplace to the introduction of two new lines, Unicum Nite and Vilmos Inside. Sales in the first half were also boosted, the company said, by enhancing its range of carbonated low-alcohol drinks and the launch of a wine trading division.
