McGuigan Simeon Wines today said that its non executive director Christian Porta had resigned, effective 30th June this year.

McGuigan Simeon Wines chairman David Clarke said: "Mr Porta has made significant contribution to the comapny over a number of years and we would like to thank him for his efforts."

Until late-2003, Porta was chairman and CEO of Orlando Wyndham, but in January was promoted by owner Pernod Ricard to chairman of Chivas Brothers, its Scotch division in the UK.
